Several years ago, Artist Partick Acton built an 8 ft tall replica of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry from J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter series. It took him 3 years to build, with a total of 602,000 matchsticks and 15 gallons of wood glue.
In 2007, the work of art was sold to "The House of Katmandu" in Majorca, Spain. Acton's most recent work, "Mina's Tirith" (from J.R.R. Tolkien's Lord of the Rings), was completed earlier this year and can be seen on display at the Matchstick Marvel's museum in Gladbrook, Iowa, and on Acton's website: http://www.matchstickmarvels.com/MinasTirith.htm.
