Several years ago, Artist Partick Acton built an 8 ft tall replica of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry from J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter series. It took him 3 years to build, with a total of 602,000 matchsticks and 15 gallons of wood glue.
In 2007, the work of art was sold to "The House of Katmandu" in Majorca, Spain. Acton's most recent work, "Mina's Tirith" (from J.R.R. Tolkien's Lord of the Rings), was completed earlier this year and can be seen on display at the Matchstick Marvel's museum in Gladbrook, Iowa, and on Acton's website: http://www.matchstickmarvels.com/MinasTirith.htm.

Stop-Motion Grafitti by Blu and David Ellis
Artists Blu and David Ellis collaborated last year to make the short film "Combo", where an unsuspecting building site in Italy becomes a work of Found Art. The artists use graffiti and stop-motion filming to create this incredible piece. Check it out below. (It loops twice, so it's only half the length it claims to be).

Sunflower in Orchard School's Art Garden
Orchard School in Ridgewood, NJ is in the process of making an "Art Garden", which will include pieces such as this Found Art sunflower:
Judy Malhotra, Orchard's art teacher, explains:
Judy Malhotra, Orchard's art teacher, explains:
It is about 6 feet tall and made from cans and a large plastic garbage can lid. We are building a community art garden out back of the studio and this will be in the ground. We are actually working on a large welded piece that deals with recycled materials also for the garden.Malhotra was my art teacher when I went to Orchard, and she always encouraged the use of found objects in art. I once made a pink flamingo out of a recycled trombone she'd brought in! Her students' beautiful work can be seen online at Orchard School's Artsonia Page.
Random Screen, by Aram Bartholl
Random Screen, by Aram Bartholl (a German artist), uses tea candles and modified aluminum cans to create an ever-changing, randomized pixelated screen. Heat from the candles rises through the aluminum can, creating movement. A true piece of found art!
On his website, Bartholl even includes instructions on how to make it: http://datenform.de/rscreeneng.html
